Brittney Barger, Clinical Mental Health Candidate & Counseling Intern
Brittney (she/her) is working towards her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). She is very excited to begin her journey as a counselor and an intern. Brittney has worked in with adults and children with Autism Spectrum Disorder primarily through Applied Behavioral Analysis therapy along with various other roles.
Brittney believes in building a therapeutic relationship that is build upon trust and respect. It is important to her to create a safe space in which her clients feel comfortable to share their stories and experiences. Brittney believes that everyone should feel heard and validated. She strives to provide that space to clients through a person-centered approach and focusing on what the individual would like to gain from their counseling experience. Brittney values self-expression and honesty, as well values the courage it takes to start counseling and go through this self- growth journey.

Counseling is hard to start but I hope to create a space where you feel heard and valued. We are all unique and go through life with different perspectives. You are important and what you go through is valued. This counseling space is for you to determine what you wish to explore and I will be there to walk with you through this journey.
