Anne Farrell, MA, LPC

An elusive, but common desire is to find wholeness - within ourselves and also with our relationship to others. Anne’s work with clients often includes identifying unmet needs, learning to name the hurts of the past and finding meaning and purpose in the present. Hope, healing and even flourishing are found when one can engage in being known in a safe environment and trusting relationship. She considers it a high calling and privilege to walk alongside people at any point in their journey to wholeness. She is committed to providing a healing, calm environment for growth and change and welcome clients from all backgrounds, belief systems, and cultures.

Experience

Anne offers a broad range of experience and therapy modalities. She has 20 years in the mental health field in a variety of arenas to include a pediatrician’s office, private practice, and in education. Anne’s work is strongly informed by Attachment Theories, the Internal Family Systems Model, and Psychodynamics.  The work of Curt Thompson, Dan Siegel, Caroline Leaf, Bessel van der Kolk, Bruce Perry and Heather Forbes have had foundational influences on how she orients her practice. Clinical focus includes child & adolescent development, parenting skills and relationship counseling, working with the school system, crisis & trauma support, development of healthy behaviors and wellness, stress management, identity issues, ADHD, anxiety, and depression.

Anne has a depth of experience as a counseling professional with a demonstrated track record of successfully working with diverse client populations in one-on-one and group settings. Professionally and therapeutically grounded to create a safe space where personal difficulties can be explored and understood in a holistic way, helping people discover the deep, meaningful connections between what it means to be known by others, as well as to live authentically and know yourself.

The primary lens of Anne’s work with clients is Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB). IPNB uses clinical research to understand continuous brain growth as its foundation by creating connections and healing relationships. Sadly, our culture wants us to believe that we must heal alone or that it is too late to experience relief. However, current research indicates that neurological growth is possible in people of all ages - meaning the implications for healing from trauma and other hurts are possible across the lifespan.
